Scranton Seniorate Meeting will be held on Saturday, September 20at 10 at Holy Mother of Sorrows parish hall.

School of Christian Living  (Sunday School) began its classes on September 14th.  All children and youth are encouraged to attend.  Please also bring your children to the church for Sunday Mass. Debbie Bilinski and Fr. Sr. Zbigniew Dawid are the class teachers.

Banns of Marriage are announced for David Micka, son of Albert & Donna Micka, and Kelly Ann Zaleski, daughter of William and Kathleen Fox. They will be married in our church on Saturday, October 4, 2025.  If any of you know any reason in law why they may not marry each other, you are to declare it. Please keep them in your prayers.

Pittston Memorial Library The weather may be getting cooler but there’s still time to sit back and relax with your friends, inside or outside.  You can do just that on Wednesday, September 24th at the Red Mill, 340 S. Main Street in Pittston.  Enjoy some pizza and a beverage while listening to the sounds of the Phyllis Hopkins Electric Duo from 6pm – 9pm, and at the same time, supporting the Friends of the Pittston Memorial Library.  Advance tickets are $30 and features all you can eat pizza and 3 drinks from 6pm – 9pm. Try your luck at our basket raffles and 50/50 drawing. This fundraiser benefits the children’s programs at the library. Reservations/payments are accepted at the library in person or by phone at 570-654-9535. Cash, check or credit card are accepted. Tickets are available at the door for $35

St. Adalbert’s YMS of R Chicken BBQ, Saturday October 4th from Noon to 3 PM (Take-Out).  515 Mary Street in Dickson City.  Call Mike Shiner at (570) 947-2333 if you would like to reserve a dinner in advance; otherwise tickets will be available at the BBQ. Donation is $15; includes chicken, baked potato, green beans, a roll &  dessert.
